Process Description

Blister packs consist of carded packaging where goods such as toys, hardware, and electrical items are contained between a specially made paperboard card and clear pre-formed plastic such as PVC. The consumer can easily examine the product through the transparent plastic. The plastic shell is vacuum-formed around a mold so it can contain the item snugly. The card is brightly colored and designed depending on the item inside, and the PVC is affixed to the card using heat and pressure to activate an adhesive (heat seal coating) on the blister card. The adhesive is strong enough so that the pack may hang on a peg, but weak enough so so that the package can be easily opened. Sometimes with large items the card has a perforated window for access.

Machine Features

• The BLS 2 Blisterpack Machine is a 2 Station Machine, Can be operated by a single person or 2 people.
• This is a blister machine that seals the pre made blister & product onto a pre printed card.
• Sealing time is around 4 seconds.
• It has a revolving disc system, manually operated whilst everything else is automatic.
• The plate size is 350 mm high X 250 mm aluminium manufactured and can accommodate approximately up to 6 blisters during one cycle.
• Sealing moulds with placing pins, are supplied and manufactured by us, even after supply of a machine as product changes occur over the life cycle of the machine.
• These vary in price between R 1 500.00 - R 1 800.00 each excl. VAT, depending on number of blisters it packs at a time.
• Air is required as the unit is pneumatically driven.
• All process controls are Solid State.
